Pearl Love has been writing since she was a kid, but it was the pretty boys who frolic around in her head who finally convinced her to pursue it seriously.  She’s a mid-west transplant who current thrives in the hustle and bustle of the nation’s capital.  A jack of many genres, she enjoys just about any type of story, so long as in the end, the boy gets the boy.  Pearl is the proud mommy of two bunny rabbits and a ridiculously large stash of yarn and knitting needles.

  1. My name is Jackie Morgan and I run the blog Literary Escapism, a book review site that focuses on the paranormal and fantasy genres. I’m writing to invite you to participate in an upcoming event that will reach a large number of paranormal book lovers and combines the readership of two immensely popular blogs in this genre: Literary Escapism (2700+ Facebook followers, 1800+ Twitter Followers, 3000+ Email Subscribers, 12,000 unique visitors (180,000+ page views) last month) & Larissa’s Larrisa’s Bookish Life (1880+ Google Followers, 2100+ Feed Subscribers, 3500+ Twitter Followers, 900+ Likes on Facebook, 400+ Email Subscribers, 4000 unique visitors (20,000+ page views) last month).

We wanted to think of an event that would promote the fabulous Echos of New Orleans Masquerade Ball that will be the Authors After Dark convention coming in August as well as many of the authors attending and we thought what better time to do that than during the month of Mardi Gras. New Orleans is not only home to some of the most wildest celebrations, but it’s also the home for some fabulous supernatural origins. From vampires, witches, voodoo and even shapeshifters, New Orleans has been host to them all.

After Dark on Bourbon Street will start on February 1st and end on Fat Tuesday, February 21st (with a post a week later announcing the giveaway winners). We’re asking authors to write a guest blog about New Orleans and Mardi Gras that involves, or is from the perspective of, one of their characters. The post can be a character doing the tourist thing, be involved in Mardi Gras shenanigans, simply finding trouble, a tour describing the best places to experience Mardi Gras, a Do’s and Don’ts list for visiting, basically anything along those lines.

Each day throughout the month of February, Larissa and I will each feature an author on our sites (cross-promoting each title for double exposure), and we’d love to include you. Please let me know if you are interested in taking part in After Dark on Bourbon Street along with the dates that would work best for you. If you wish to include a giveaway with your post please let us know, or include contact info for your publicist so that we can arrange a giveaway directly with your publisher.

We greatly appreciate your time and consideration. We’re more than happy to provide additional in-depth information for both Literary Escapism and Larrisa’s Bookish Life upon request. Please contact either myself or Larissa if you have any questions or need more information.

If you’re interested in participating, please respond via email to jackie@literaryescapism.com. I look forward to working with you.

    Jackie (& Larissa)

    Hi Pearl,
It was lovely to meet you at UK Meet 2013 in Manchester, and talk over breakfast. Please could you drop me an email at my address above, as I’d like to ask you something about UK Meet 2014?
